Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

This policy explains what information we collect at Synan, when we collect it, why, who we share it with, and how you can ask us to correct or delete it. We only collect what we need to build your website.

Who we are

Synan is a service from Lebanon that builds complete websites for small businesses: design, a domain name, hosting and email under the business's name. Our website is wearesynan.com, and we are responsible for the information you give us through it.

What we collect and when

Before you sign in with your Google account, we store nothing about you. If you only browse the home page, we know neither your name nor your email address. The only thing kept in your browser, and only for the current session, is where your visit came from if you arrived through an ad link (utm tags and the ad click id), so we can link it to your account if you sign up.

When you sign in with Google: we only request the basic permissions (openid, email, profile), meaning your name, email address and profile picture. We have no access to your emails, your files or anything else in your account.

When you answer the questions: information about your business, such as its name, type and area, what you sell and your prices, your story and your team, the address and your location on the map, opening hours, WhatsApp and phone numbers, social media accounts, and the style you like. If you leave a written note or a voice note for the team, we store it too.

When you prepare your order: the logo and photos you upload, your colours, the domain names you chose, and the email name you want.

During the reviews: your feedback, the notes you place on specific spots of the designs and of the images of your website's pages (pins), and the images of your website's pages that we take of each version we send you.

When you pay with Whish: the reference code, the transaction number, and a photo of the receipt if you upload one. Payment takes place in the Whish app, and we do not see or store your card or account details there.

Email password: we create your mailbox ourselves and set a first password for it, then send it to you once on WhatsApp. We do not store it in our systems.

Technical information: essential cookies that keep you signed in, and standard technical logs (such as your IP address) kept by our hosting provider for security. We do not use advertising cookies.

Analytics and ad measurement

Analytics: we use an analytics tool to understand how our website is used: which pages and sections are opened, which buttons are pressed, the type of device (phone or computer), and where the visit came from (utm tags). Before you sign in, it runs without cookies and without storing anything in your browser, does not know who you are, and does not record the session; it uses your IP address and browser type only to count visitors, and does not keep the IP address. After you sign in, we link these analytics to your account number with us only, never to your name or email, and we record the session to improve the experience, with everything you type and all text on your account pages hidden. We never send it your name, email, phone numbers, business name, domain names, answers, or written and voice notes.

Public-page analysis: we may use a second tool on the public pages only (the home page and the terms and privacy pages) to see how the page is read and where people click, without cookies. It never runs inside your account.

Ad measurement (Facebook and Instagram): we do not put the ad platform's pixel in your browser. When you first create your account and when you submit your order, our servers tell the ad platform directly so we can measure our ads. We send your email address and your account number with us as one-way SHA-256 hashes (never as they are), the ad click id if you came through an ad, your browser type, and, when you submit an order, its value in dollars. We do not send your name, your business name or your answers.

Why we use your information

To design, build and launch your website, register the domain name and activate your email, and then to host them and keep them running.

To verify payments and keep a record of your order and of your acceptance of the terms.

To contact you about your project: updates, questions, support, and reminders before and after your renewal date, by email or WhatsApp.

The information you give us to put on your website (such as your address, phone number and photos) will be visible to the public on your website, as that is its purpose.

To measure how the website is used and how our ads perform, as described under "Analytics and ad measurement".

We do not sell your information, we do not use it to target you with ads, and we only share it as described below.

Who we share information with

We use trusted providers to make everything work, and each of them only receives what it needs to provide its service:

Google for signing in with your Google account; providers that manage sign-in, store your information and files (on servers in Europe), host the Synan website and our clients' websites and register domain names, run email and webmail (on servers in Switzerland), send you emails from Synan, provide analytics (on servers in the United States), analyse the public pages, and measure our ads; Whish for payments; and WhatsApp for talking with each other. You can ask us for the current list of these providers at the email address below.

We also use design, development and artificial-intelligence tools to design and build your website from your answers, files and feedback, including the pins you place. After you pay, AI tools also read your typed answers, written notes, order, photos and logo to ask you follow-up questions and write your site plan. We give these tools your business information only, never your Google account information. They may use what they receive, under their own policies, to improve their models.

Some of these providers operate outside Lebanon, so your information may be stored in or pass through Europe, the United States or elsewhere.

We may disclose information if required by law or by a competent official authority.

Your Google account information

We use your name, email address and profile picture from Google only to identify you in your account, display them there, and contact you about your project. We do not sell them, we do not use them to target you with ads or to train AI models, and no one on our team looks at them except to help you, for security, or when the law requires it. The one exception: a SHA-256 hash of your email address is sent to the ad platform we advertise on, to measure our ads, as described above.

Synan's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can remove Synan's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

How long we keep information and how to request deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account or website is active. The files you upload to us (your logo, photos and voice notes), however, are kept only for as long as we need them:

If your project is refunded, we delete your files 30 days after the refund.

If your order stops before payment and is abandoned, we keep your files for 90 days so you can come back and finish your order without uploading them again, and then we delete them.

After your website goes live, we delete the voice notes and original photos you uploaded 90 days after launch, and we keep your logo. The photos used on your website remain part of it for as long as it is online.

Pins you send, and every image that carries one, are part of your project record: the deletion periods above don't apply to them, and they are deleted when your account is deleted. Pins you haven't sent are visible only to you and are deleted when that review ends. Page images without a sent pin are deleted when a newer version replaces them or when you approve the preview. Copies on our team's computers follow the same periods.

If we stop work on your project because we have not heard back from you, we keep your files for 12 months from the day work stopped so you can come back, and then we delete them.

When your website is removed, we delete your files immediately.

The receipt of a payment we confirmed is kept as part of your order record; the deletion periods above do not apply to it.

You can request a copy of your information, its correction, or the deletion of your account by emailing the address below, and we will reply as soon as possible.

If your website is live, deleting your account means the website and email are removed as well.

We keep payment and order records and your acceptance of the terms for as long as the law and accounting require, even after deletion.

Security

We protect your information with Google sign-in, an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and permissions that let each client see only their own project. Files are uploaded through secure upload links, and the admin panel is for the Synan team only. However, no system on the internet is 100% guaranteed.

Children

Synan is a service for business owners, not for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information about them.

Changes to this policy

If we make an important change to this policy, we will update the date above and let you know by email or in your account.
